David Gourlay has probably the finest bowls pedigree on the World Bowls Tour, with parents David and Sarah both Commonwealth Games champions, in 1982 and 1994, respectively.

 

David won the World Indoor Singles Championship in 1996 and has won two World Open Pairs and three World Mixed Pairs championships also.

​

He spent well over a decade in the top four players in the World Rankings and is widely recognised by his contemporaries as one of the most technically gifted players in the sport.

 

His wins at the International Open in 2017 and Scottish International Open in 2018 re-affirmed his position as a highly dangerous opponent.
