FEATHERBY AND KING TAKE THE THIRD SEMI-FINAL SPOT IN THE WORLD MIXED PAIRS

Australian’s Lisa Featherby, making her debut appearance at Potters Resort, teamed up with Mervyn King from the Gallow club in Fakenham and they were delighted to take out a 9-6, 10-2 victory over Gillian Young and Potters Ambassador Greg Harlow to see them safely through to tomorrow’s Imagine Cruising UK World Matchplay Mixed Pairs semi-finals.

Lisa and Mervyn got the perfect start, scoring seven shots over four of the opening five ends but Gillian and Greg pulled that scoreline back to be just one shot behind at 7-6 playing the last.

They held a single which would have given then a shared set, but with his last bowl Mervyn pushed the holding shot off the jack and in turn counted a double to win 9-6.

With that scare behind them, Lisa and Mervyn only dropped two singles over the course of the second set and won 10-2 for a straight sets victory.

They will now wait for the winner of the last of the quarter finals tonight to see who their semi-final opponents will be – either Nicole Rogers and Nick Brett or CeriAnn Glen and Stewart Anderson.

RESULT - MATCH 3 Lisa Featherby (Aus) & Mervyn King (Eng) bt Gillian Young (RSA) & Greg Harlow (Eng) 9-6, 10-2.
