GLEN LOOKS TO BRIDGE 15 YEAR GAP FOR SECOND TITLE

The second semi final of the Ladies World Matchplay took place in the evening session at Potters Resorts with highly anticipated encounter.


Lisa Featherby from the Mossman club in Western Australia was looking to reach her first

World Bowls Tour final. Standing in her way was the 2008 champion Ceriann Glen who is having a renaissance this week.


The first set was a tight affair early in with Lisa leading 4-2 after five ends. Ceriann then scored a crucial three in the 6th end to take the lead before the players exchanged doubles. With Ceriann leading by 8 shots to 7 she played a perfect draw with her third bowl which remained in place to win the first set.


The second set was also tight throughout the early ends with Lisa leading by 4 shots to 3 after 5 ends. The next two ends though were crucial to the outcome and Ceriann scored a 3 and a 4 to lead by 10 shots to 4 with only time running out. Lisa played an excellent bowl in the eight end to check out Ceriann's nearest bowl but it was only for a two and the contest was at an end.


Ceriann will play against Katherine Rednall in the 1pm match on Thursday.

Ceriann Glen (Wal) beat Lisa Featherby (Aus) 2-0 (8-6, 10-8)
