Making their debut in the Ambassador Cruise Line Mixed Pairs Championship, Scots Beth Riva and Jason Banks were in top form to seal a place in Tuesday's title decider against top partnership of Katherine Rednall and Paul Foster MBE.
Riva - making her debut at the Potters Resorts venue, is a 21 year old Law Student at Edinburgh Napier University and takes the lead position with Design Engineer Jason Banks who is 28 - playing skip and they went head to head against 25 year old Nicole Rogers, an Actuary Consultant from Exeter and twice former winner of this title Les Gillet from Nottingham.
The English twosome set the pace in the early stages, taking a 5-0 lead after two ends, and kept that five shot cushion at 6-1 in their favour after four ends.
However the Scots found their rhythm but still had to fight their corner with their opposition also playing well, despite Gillett feeling poorly. But some telling shots from Banks turned that score line on its head as they reeled off seven straight shots to win the set 8-6.
The Scots both continued with their rich vein of form in the second set to run out convincing winners 11-1 and now look forward to the title decider on Tuesday 21st December at 1pm against England's Katherine Rednall from Norwich and Paul Foster MBE from Troon in Scotland.
